 | Cereal ManufacturerA leading breakfast cereal manufacturer was experiencing a high number of rejected cereal bags. A filler/sealer machine’s PLC timing was off by 30 milliseconds so that the bag heat sealing commenced before the filling had stopped. As a result cereal was caught in the seal. At 500 pictures per second record rate, 2 milliseconds per picture, the engineers were able to get more than 15 images at the end of the process. They were able to adjust the PLC timing so that dwell time was at a minimum and thus ensure that the maximum throughput of 200 bags per minute production was met without the sealing problem. |
